I am usually a great one for picking up the camera and shooting (often missing the first few shots because of incorrect settings). The app has enabled me to quickly think about what I am going to shoot, and then it gives me some base settings and ideas on how. Whilst i am only new to it, i can see it being of great benefit to me. I am doing a trip soon, so I hope to use it a fair bit

Brilliant - really enjoyed using this app I downloaded it end of July so easy to use. Immensely useful for getting ideas on useful settings for my photography. Love how you can store info regarding your camera & lenses. Had a few niggles at first but was sorted by Stephen.

The iPhotography courses and tutors are already great, I’ve honestly learnt so much and got such great tuition. I’ve just downloaded the new guided shot app and it is brilliant. It’s like having the tutor in your ear saying ‘now do this’.... I have a basic idea of what to do in different settings and scenarios but being able to refer back to the app - and especially that it is set up for your specific lens is a game changer. It gives the suggested settings but also additional tips on composition etc which are really helpful. It’s also really simple to use which other apps aren’t always. Would thoroughly recommend!

What is GuidedShot?
It's a pocket settings guide from iPhotography. Out in the field, you tap through a few quick questions about what you're shooting, and it gives you a clear starting point for your settings plus composition tips for the shot in front of you — like having a tutor in your pocket. They're a strong launch point to adjust from, not a fixed rule — every scene's a little different.
Who is it for?
Photographers using a dedicated camera who want a fast, clear answer in the moment — whether you're fairly new to your settings or just want a reliable starting point when the light's changing and there's no time to think.
What kind of camera do I need?
A dedicated camera — a DSLR or mirrorless body with settings you can change. GuidedShot is built around those controls (mode, aperture, shutter, ISO and so on), so it isn't designed for phone cameras or simple point-and-shoots.
Will it work on my phone?
Almost certainly. If you've bought your iPhone or Android phone in the last several years, you're all set — and it runs in whichever browser you already use.
Do I download it from the App Store or Play Store?
No. GuidedShot opens straight in your web browser, and you add it to your home screen with a couple of taps so it sits there like any other app. We include a simple picture guide showing you exactly how, on both iPhone and Android.
Do I need signal or internet to use it?
Only the very first time, to load it. After that it works completely offline — ready whether you're up a mountain, deep in a wood, or anywhere else with no bars showing.
Which browsers does it work with?
All the common ones: Safari, Chrome, Firefox, Samsung Internet and Edge. You don't need to install anything new.
Is my camera brand supported?
Yes — Canon, Nikon, Sony, Fujifilm, Panasonic and Olympus / OM System are all built in, and there's an option for other brands too. GuidedShot shows the settings using your own brand's wording, so it matches what you see on your camera.
Will it give me the exact right settings every time?
It gives you a strong, reliable starting point for the shot in front of you, and shows you how to fine-tune from there using your camera's light meter. Photography always has a bit of judgement to it — GuidedShot gets you set up fast so you can concentrate on the picture.
Will it work on a tablet?
